This horseback ride takes you up into the Virginia Lakes Canyon where you see stunning views of Blue Lake, you ride right by a historic minerā€™s cabin, and stop at beautiful Cooney Lake. At Cooney Lake, you dismount and have a few minutes to explore the shoreline and waterfall, before making your return to the pack station.

Saddle Up For A Picnic, Fishing, & Hiking

Ride through all of beautiful Virginia Lakes Canyon on this all-day horseback ride. Climb up to Burro Pass and beyond, to a grassy meadow with an overlook of Summit Lake and the peaks of northern Yosemite. There, you stop for lunch and can explore the mountainside on foot. On the return, you climb back over the pass to see stunning eastern facing views of the canyon we call home! This full-day Virginia Lakes escape includes your horseback ride, hiking, and lunch.
